The title of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is from a Byzantine icon from the 15th century. The image displays Our Blessed Mother holding Jesus, the Divine Child, with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel on either side holding objects that would be used in Christ's Passion. As the Child Jesus ponders his future Passion, He holds the comforting hand of his mother.
About the Design:
The watercolor on this card is of the traditional icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help maintained by the Redemptorists in the church of St. Alphonsus in Rome.
